By the way, I found that rolling back to the 91.47 drivers got rid of it. I'm currently running 93.71s again though.
Hmm...rolling back drivers fixed the issue with SLi? Gotta try that as well.

Here are some observations w/ 93.71 drivers:

1. Single GPU >>> Less Flickering. Almost none.
2. Windowed mode with SLi >> Zero flickering.

What has become quite apparent now is that for some reason with the updates SLi facility is causing issues. There is NO benefit of using SLi on GW as it does not take any advantage at all. At least that's what my observation is.

Weird... I'll have to try it windowed tonight and see how it does. However, when I disable SLi I still have flicker. Whether or not it was less of a problem, I didn't notice.

Guys-update EVERYTHING including bios.
That should help.
Try messing with your cards options also to see what happens.
Im running on a 3ghz P4 with HT and a Ati 9600XT and I get 40+FPS easy.Without graphic problems.

Same problem - but with 8800GTX SLI. I am convinced it's the latest forceware though - the flickering started when I updated that, not when GW last updated.

Last night's update did not rectify the problem at all. I don't see the load balancing bar anymore with SLi on. I have tried all different rendering techniques. So, looks like they are forcing single GPU rendering now.

But, flickering galore and its so annoying!!

I've been using the Forceware driver that was released in November of 2006 (I installed it in January after the Wintersday events). From that time until April, I never experienced a single flickering problem that we're all describing. I hadn't changed anything on the system and then suddenly, now I'm experiencing it and have been since the beginning of April. The only significant change to either my system or to the game in that time period (from January until now) has really only been the April 5th update. I'm getting used to it after seeing it for two weeks, but it's annoying.

I feel your pain. I have been searching the net for 3 days to see if anyone else had the issue I have, and now I have found someone. I have everything just like Vel has for video issues.
I also have an annoying issue where objects on the screen are blocky and blury until I get VERY close to them. I have 2 Geforce 7800 GT's running SLI mode, an AMD X2 CPU, 2 gig DDR2 ram all running on a M2N32-SLI Deluxe board. I have the graphic options maxxed out. This is annoying when playing the game, I hope Anet or Nvidia comes up with a fix soon!!!!!

Both my SLI desktop and my single GPU laptop are having flickering issues recently.

I kinda fixed mine a little. I brought the PC outside and cleaned the dust out. With the dust gone and better cooling able to reach the cpu and the gpu my flickering is gone. I still have the issue of world objects being all fuzzy, then just popping up in full graphic detail. To me it's an LOD issue that Anet needs to adress and not a hardware issue with my PC. I run Oblivion on this PC as well and i have the graphics on Max settings with HDR and I don't get any objects popping up and that's what leads me to think it's a GW issue with LOD and how it handles it.

It is quite annoying that ANET support keeps telling me ...do that do this and it is quite clear that they are throwing stones in the dark. They have no clue what they did to mess it up for NVIDIA users. However, what's really annoying is that they want ME to troubleshoot the problem for them. I am the end user. I patiently waited and followed their directions for over 12 days now; quite pointless actually. If it were a problem with only my PC oe my setup I would have done all the troubleshooting I needed to do but, it is quite clear it is a problem with NVIDIA cards running DirectX v9.0c. in SLi or not in SLi. I gave them the link to this thread also. But, all in vain. ANET support should go buy a couple cards (if you don't have them...well duh!) and try out instead of telling me to troubleshoot for you. WTH really!

At any rate, cleaning the GPU will be a good idea.

My Flickering is back!!!! >.< I think my next step is to remove my vid drivers and try different versions until I find one that works. Anyone know how many versions back we can go before SLI is not supported?? Current version is 93.71 and was released Nov 2 2006.
ANET FIX THIS WOULD YA!!!!

I believe this is definitely an anti-aliasing problem. I've come to the conclusion if I set my "SLI rendering mode" to "SLI Anti-aliasing" the flicker is gone. The only problem is I take a big hit in performance, down about 20fps from my usually 50 to 60. But still, 30fps fluid motion is better than the flickering any day!

OK, I hate to throw a monkey wrench into your chatting, but I and my wife both have the same issue. I use a Geforce 6800GT (256mb) while she used a Geforce 6200OC (256mb). We have the flickering, the strange objects that transmute them selves into trees or what ever as you get closer. We both have Althon 64 3200+ procs on a GA-K8U-939 (AGP only). We are both using video driver version: 81.98 as it has always performed the best for the 6xxx series cards.
Lastly, like you it started after the April 5th update.

But it has to be an anti-aliasing problem. Given that people in different threads on different boards have said that it goes away when you switch the AA levels and I can assure that when set to "SLI Anti-aliasing" the problem is gone. A.net needs to look at anti-aliasing in regards to this problem.

ANET knows it is an AA problem. They tried to fix it too probably but, in vain.

Update - Wednesday April 18

* Enabled the Russian language option.
* Fixed a performance issue with anti-aliasing on nVidia cards and Windows Vista.

However, that did not fix anything. Also, I wonder why post April 18th Update I don't see the SLi load balancing bar anymore even when it is enabled in NVIDIA Control Panel. Anyone knows?

common symptom of this problem is geometric structures that incorrectly
disappear and re-appear as the scene shifts.
...think it might be something to do with that?

When I saw this in the patch notes I took it to mean performance with nVidia cards and Windows Vista in tandem/conjuction. Not each seperately.

Actually, I read the same way as well. Then I started playin with AA and I noticed that in SLI8 the performance has almost doubled than what it was before. If you remove vertical sync, its pretty decent. Also, I don't think triple buffering works in SLi and so, vsync is a bottleneck. With SLi8 there will be no flickering but, one wall at Piken will still change color as shown on my video.

As the update messed up AA, SLI owners are sorta left with 2 choices SLi8 or SLi16. SLi16 is an overkill with a HUGE performance drop.
